About Buffie

I was born Buffie Carruth in Athens, GA as the 3rd child of 7. Even as a child, I always knew the importance of being in good health and shape. I was never an exercise junkie, but I always did just enough to stay fit. In the beginning of my career, I wanted the world to believe that I was born with this body, and that didn’t have to exercise or watch what I ate. This wasn’t the truth , and I wasn’t fooling anyone but myself. I was very thin throughout my 20s (no hips, no thighs, no ANYTHING), and until my meeting with a nutritionist in the early 90s, I considered myself underweight. That meeting changed my life. He instructed me on how to gain weight and stay fit at the same time. I followed his instructions carefully and had great results.

I can’t say I follow the healthiest diet in the world, but I will admit that I’ve modified my diet over the years. Yes, I still eat the good things that I’ve always enjoyed, but I’ve learned to eat in moderation and not to over indulge. I’ve never believed that you have to completely stop eating everything you love. I do believe however, that in order to reach your desired body type, you need to exercise and make adjustments to your diet. Having a nice shapely figure and poor health is like having a new shiny car with a faulty engine.

I’m not claiming to be a dietitian or nutritionist, but healthier eating habits are a key component to better health and optimal fitness results. Unless you’re simply blessed with good genetics, you’ll have to put in work for your ideal body just like most people do. While genetics do play a significant role in my body composition, it is not as influential as you may think. I’ve been exercising intermittently for years. I mainly focused on my lower body until I decided once and for all to commit to fitness. There are tons of ways to build the muscles in your butt, flatten your tummy and tone your overall body, and I’ve posted a few of my ways here. Contrary to what some people believe, my ass is 100% real. No fillers, no implants, So don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve an ample backside by exercising because I’m living proof that you can.

The questions I’ve received from women about my own body have inspired me to construct this website. If we as women are not serious about anything else, we are serious about our hair and bodies! I receive emails every singleday from women in all walks of life sharing two things in common- a desire to have a flatter stomach and an ample, curvier butt. I completely understand that no woman wants a flat, unattractive ass and likewise no one wants a bulky midsection. I’m all for trying to get women of all races to embrace their curves in a more positive way with exercise. I will never promote the thin and skinny look because that’s not what I’m about. Being healthy and looking good does not mean you have to be “skinny”. I truly believe that a woman should be well proportioned, curvaceous and well-rounded with health being top priority

On this site I will post the latest articles by reputable physicians, professors, universities and researchers on health, diet, exercise, nutrition and fitness. I will also post my workout clips on getting your body in shape, my personal notes on my odyssey through fitness, and my “Ask Buffie” column where I answer questions that women ask.

First and foremost you must establish fitness goals of your own. Whether it’s to obtain a bigger butt, smaller butt, weight loss, weight gain, or simply to improve your overall health and well-being, knowing your individual fitness goals will be important for self improvement on all levels.

I’m taking what I’ve learned over the years and passing it on to you, the ladies! Remember, we are all different individuals so results will vary from female to female. I assure you that if you stay dedicated you will enjoy all the benefits of BODYNOMICS!

UPDATE:  as of 6-19-2012 I’m officially CERTIFIED as a personal trainer through the National Academy Of Sports Medicine (NASM)!!!!! YEA! I DID IT!
